Lily Cole was flawless and quite the talented actress.. excited to see her performance in Phantasmagoria next year. i wont reveal anything for those who havnt seen it. however its a must see. The late Heath Ledger was also amazing in this film along with Jude, Colins and Johnnys small performances. Amazing cgi work aswell. they really take you into your imagination!.

one of the best films i have seen this year. when you come out your minds is still in the imaginarium.... YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!

Atom Kane

Now i know the resort collections were a while ago. however im just going to metion one of the most amazing collections i have ever seen... now. if you know me, for most of you wont...i have a love of mushroom clouds and i think they are the most beautiful things that mans ever invented... well one of.

so i was so estatic when i saw the prints that Kane used for his resorts. the most illuminate, sever prints of 70s nuclear bomb explosions! and i was more so happy when i saw he used the prints of photos i already had.!.

theres something about them! they are somewhat spectacular. the pieces i mean. the rich colours he used, which were directly taken from the photos, radiate this feeling of awe. because in a way they are so majestic but being truely beautiful at the same time.. and in Kanes hands they become amazing cut dresses and jackets with a real modern nuclear twist.

Everything about the girl....

Ranya mordanova... wow she has really caught my eye recently! the russian beauty has the most amazing  eyes. they draw you in and your hypnotised. which lead to her being a new fave of Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy as she has walked for him the last two Givenchy Couture and Pret á Porter.

Personally its her ethereal looks that im drawn too. her long swan-like neck, her amazing complection, skin tone and awesome hair. alltogether shes the girl im loving atm! shes so beautiful!

SS2010... My top ten....take 2wo

,the continuation of my top ten.

Prada...

Well, i thoroughly enjoyed prada this season.. but to be honest i always do. the whole business at the beach theme was a realy joy and those silkscreened prints of an end of the world beach scene with nuclear colours were outstanding. but the real showstopeprs were the jewelled shoes, the water droplet dresses and the cuts of the suites and early on garments.  the seams looked like they were ripped open or apart, brilliance and the shoes like cascading water. alot of woman will want this in thier wardrobe.

Givenchy!

Riccardo Tisci has excelled himself this season. with his strong severe giometric prints, in tights or layered jackets with amazing cuts, in colours such as olive, woody greens and browns, black and white strong strong strong editorial pieces. but half way through the collection these amazing draped chiffon dresses in musty browns and creams. With this incredible appliqué  i especially love the ones worn by Amanda laine and Daiane Conterato.

Towards the end came these lacy esc shirts and dresses to finish the collection off, with pure romanticism but still a darkness to the collection (as with all of Tiscis collections for couture and pret á porter) which we LOVE!

CHANEL...

well... i just loved chanel this season, i am normally one for the avanté gardé, however chanel is one of those brand thats is so chic and timeless. even when take the girls to a southern dutch barn as it appeared to be in this season. the collection for a better word was very twee, Chanel jackets in soft pastel,  pinks, creams, white and blacks with a little plaid printed full skirts and jackets. not only was there flower bags, near enough each girl stutting out in.....clogs.... yes clogs.  towards the end. more royal blues and reds moved into sweet ballerina skirts. delightful acsessiories, long necklaces in silver and chanel bags, some with cut out floweres pinned onto woven bags. and some the tradition quilted chanel handbag.
With Lily Allen on the mic, each girl having a beaming smile, and Freya, Lara and Baptiste having a romp in the hay at the end. the show was pure delight. soft tulles wrapped around some of the girls and my particular favours longer chiffon dresses that shows the girls undergarments. it was all perfect in my eyes. Karl created a triumph this european farmgirl season
.

Missoni

Angela Missoni knows how to create incredible knits... and this season they were a softer light, more summery interpretations of Fall09. however she gave them a chic urban twist.

This season she used very very light soft pastal colours for example; a soft pink, pale blue, dusty creams. on the knitwear and the chiffon dresses, but as always with Missoni they were all very layered looks so she put girls in calf length chiffon dresses with a long knitted cardigan placed over the top half off the shoulders, knotted at the waistband.  or a knitted dress with a knot on the waitline, very relaxed very casual for spring summer at Missoni... i know where ill be looking for ideas what to wear next summer.
Celine

Leather Shirts... what can i say?
there is no doubt that Phoebe Philo knows who she is a designer and her latest collection for celine proved just that.

i dont know what was the best part of this collection, the cut, the leather or the colours, Phoebe has such a god sense of colour, which dates back to her Chloé days. the collection, was almost chloé Phoebe, with the wedge sandals, high waisted tailored trousers which had this heir of the seventies with the elongated legs and widely cut. however it was so contemporary and modern with the strictness of it all. the cut leather shirts, shorts and skirts were completly chic. then with the bolt of naval blue it took the repetativeness camel and creams (which we adore though) and gave it something special that wow factor. this collection was the wow factor. GO Phoebe!

SS2010... My top ten.

Spring/Summer 2010 the lowdown! my top 10

So this is my first ever blog. so im all new to this.. just want to share my love of Fashion to the world.

I really enjoyed following the SS 2010 season and this is just a tribute to the designers i think did outstandingly!.

part 1
in no particular order.

Lanvin

. loved Lanvin this season!(as always) genius... especially Vladas' green embellished piece towards the end. in this collection there was alot of soft draping. all of his garments look like they grew on the body as there are no seams in sight! takes alot of workmanship to create one of his clothes and they are amazing!.

.the show stoppers were the polyester jumpsuits, and his use of colours the peach, vermillions, corals, the emerald like greens. fanastic!

. Alexander Mcqueen

Saw Plato's Atlantis (well tried too) on the fantastic website ,SHOWstudio.com... got on there the show started and. crashed. stoped alltogether... However...

Amazing season from him... those prints. you wonder how they come about? not only that the Shoes each one went from strength to strength. the first set were like heads of sea monsters and looked very heavy to walk in. art none the less. and my personal fave the last ones which were like sea monsters again... but like they were growing around the foot so many beautiful colours as well blacks deep marine blues, petrols, whites. when i saw them close up i thought straight away they remind me of the skeletal wreckage where Ursula from disneys the little mermaid lives.

but amazing collection. amazing.
(see what i mean)

.Bottega Veneta

Tomas Maier, creates some of the most beautiful clothes in Milan alone. and this season was no expection. with the concept of children returning home from karate lesson you seem a bit conspicuois but in his hand, beauty is made. the pallette was very neautral, whites, creams with touches of colour done in soft belts to resemble the karate belts. and towards the end beautiful chiffon gowns which seem almost un cohesive with the collection, but what are so beautiful. it doesnt matter.

.John Galliano

Johns Galliano collection for this season was one of my unadulterated favourites. with the main theme concept of the 1950s film noir Sunset Blvd. and the forgotten silver screen actress Norma Desmond. it was an instant hit... one of my favourite films and inspiration for my Foundation FMP. the wya he layered dresses over other garments and jackets over dresses. it was a catastrophic mess, but it was beautiful.

Very 'Galliano' with his famous bias cutting, a yellow dress worn my magdalena at the end was a hit. but detail is everything with his collections, form the hair to the makeup to the shoes to the set (which was a fantastic laser runway with giant musky bubbles). pure theatrics.

.Rodarte

Kate and Laura mulleavy excelled themselves with thier apocalyptic collection for SS 2010. they two melted primitivism and futurism in a way that only they can. using fabrics such as chiffon, cheese cloth, plastics, cobwebby knits, merging them together to create beautifully contructive conceptial clothing. with gothic influences, and arm makeup fit for a tribal warrior. all in all this Rodarte season was a strong, influential collection that keeps me on my toes and eagerlly awaiting thier next collection and being able to see the clothes close up in stores.
